Some Ugandans have sharply reacted to Zambia’s President Edgar Lungu for telling them to accept his friend Yoweri Museveni as their dully elected President of Uganda and move on.

President Lungu upon arrival in Uganda where he is attending the inauguration of Yoweri Museveni urged the people of that country to learn to accept results saying there can only be one winner.

Museveni won a disputed fifth term in office on February 18 which was marred by violence and intimidation. The opposition rejected the poll and refused to recognise Museveni.

““Let the opposition parties accept the will of the people and accept the win of president Museveni because he went through elections and won,” President Lungu is quoted by The Daily Monitor to have said.

This has not gone well with Ugandans who have accused President Lungu of poking his nose on internal affairs of Uganda.

“Mr Lungu enjoy Holiday and we the Tax payers are the ones footing the bills during your stay in Uganda but stop uttering your Ignorance by giving reference of a football striker who doesn’t score, leave Ugandan Politics for Ugandans.

Let me ask you Mr Lungu, in which football competitions even if you have all the strikers like the Maradona’s, Ronaldo’s and Messi can you score a goal if the same team you’re competing with is acting as players, referees, linemen and goal keepers?

Leave Ugandan Politics for Ugandans, enjoy your Holiday, Ugandan Taxpayers
are the ones footing the bills. Did you know before I forget, that our intern Doctors across the Contry have not been paid their wages for the last five Months and secondly, the only Cancer machine in 30 years of your Dictator’s friend rule in the entire Country is broken!!??,” writes

Another Ugandan blogger writes:

“If you have a football club, you can’t use only one striker who doesn’t score. My advice to them [opposition] is to accept the win and also change the striker because he has failed to score for all these years he has been on the football ground,” said Mr Lungu.

It is such as shame that President Lungu commands and displays a startling level of ignorance about Uganda’s political history. Well, if we momentary accept his myopic and horribly baked allegory, it is Museveni who Ugandans should actually remove from the “strike force.” For the last 32 years, Museveni has been a perennial “striker”, helped in no small measure by a horrible referee (Elections Commissioner, Mr. Cheatgundu) over whom he commands unquestionable influence. Moreover, M7 and his NRM party have willfully tilted the football field against the opposition team, with the club’s chief security officer, Inspector General of Police, General Kale Kai-horror openly asserting that he takes orders from Lungu’s “striker”— M7, and not from Uganda’s Constitution. If in deed, Museveni’s team had Museveni as an excellent “striker”, why does his club and security not even allow the supporters of the opposing team (Besigye and his supporters) to come to the field and cheer their own team (Dr. Besigye) , on the day M7 is receiving a dirty and contested trophy?”

He should know that this is Uganda not Zambia, he should take his big mouth back to his country because he doesn’t know what he has come to witness.
Was he among the international observers to start commenting on issue he doesn’t know? For his information, the elect president is Dr. Col. Kizza Besigye. He got 54% and the person whom he has com to attend his swearing ceremony, got 44%. Before speaking he should have first researched well about the trends of Uganda politics.

Lungu you would be better served if you stuck to drinking your enguli. Leave Uganda to Ugandans. You come to wine and dine with mcheveni at the expense of poor Ugandan taxpayers and then you tell us what to do – No No No!!!!!!!

With all due respect, the Zambian should mind his business and go and wine with his host. Let him leave Ugandan matters to Ugandans.

A Zambian blogger Royd Moonga writes:
