President Edgar Lungu has urged the people of Uganda and Zambia to learn to accept election results.
The Zambian leader who is in Uganda for the inauguration of President Yoweri Museveni said democracy has come to stay on the continent.
President Lungu says there can only be one winner in any election and that the losers must give chance to the winner to perform.
He was speaking in an interview with ZNBC’s Luckson Nthani on arrival at the Entebbe International Airport in Uganda where he has been invited to witness the swearing-in ceremony of Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni on Thursday.
President Museveni extended his tenure after he recently won his fifth term in a disputed election that was marred with violence and intimidation.
And President Lungu has also advised political parties in Africa to change their leaders instead of fielding the same losing candidates in every election.
He said he was aware of one candidate in Zambia who has been contesting and losing elections many times.
President Lungu said political parties should change and pick new candidates who would win election.
