PF Mpulungu aspiring candidate Martin Pende says he would not want to be associated with a political party that has failed the aspirations of the people, he has thus joined UPND.

Speaking this afternoon when he joined the UPND together with many other PF members at a meeting addressed by UPND President Hakainde Hichilema, Vice-President Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba, Former Commerce Minister Bob Sichinga, Former Lubasenshi Member of Parliament Patrick Mucheleka, Pende said the people of Mpulungu were facing many challenges that the current PF leadership had failed to address.

And UPND President Hakainde Hichilema says once elected he will improve the water transport in Mpulungu so as to ease movements.

Mr. Hichilema told the thousands that attended the impromptu meeting that his government will embark on a robust fish restocking programme in water bodies such as Lake Tanganyika as part of the economic diversification programme.

The UPND leader also bemoaned the poor water and sanitation situation  in Mpulungu despite being near Lake Tanganyika.  Majority of Mpulungu residents do not have access to clean and safe  water.

And UPND Vice President Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba dared the constituency chairperson Freedom Sikazwe who is also Northern Province Deputy Minister to stop politicking and start preparing for exit because he has lamentably failed with his PF regime.
