President Lungu lifts the new constitution after assenting the bills
The opposition Forum for Democracy and Development (FDD) says it is shocking that over K4.8 million was spent by government during the ceremony to ascent to the constitution bill by President Edgar Lungu at Heroes Stadium on 5th January 2016.
Party spokesperson Antonio Mwanza told Hot FM News that it is dismaying that such a huge amount of money was spent on such an activity when the country is faced with a lot of challenges.
He said the act borders on criminality, banditry adding that it is preposterous for the PF to waste tax payers money in such manner.
“Over K4.8. Million on fun when they can’t pay CBU and UNZA students; when patients are sleeping on the floor in hospitals and clinics which have no medicines; when babies are dying of malnutrition and curable diseases; when retirees are dying unpaid for their sweat,” Mwanza said.
Vice President Inonge Wina disclosed in Parliament last week that over K4.8 million was spent during the ceremony to ascent to the constitution bill by President Edgar Lungu at Heroes Stadium in Lusaka on 5th January 2016.
