Three people have died while eleven are admitted to the University Teaching Hospital -UTH- after the bus they were travelling in lost control and overturned several times on Great North Road near 10 miles area.
Two pupils from Moomba School and the conductor of a bus died on the spot.
Three of the eleven admitted at the hospital are in a critical condition while 8 have sustained serious injuries.
The Toyota mini bus registration BAC 314 was carrying pupils when the accident happened.
A ZNBC’s Ruth Mwale who rushed to the accident scene found some parents at the accident scene.
Mercy Chileshe, one of the survivors said the driver was over speeding and was trying to overtake a truck when he lost control.
Meanwhile Nambula Sililo reports that General Education Minister John Phiri who visited the victims at UTH has described the accident as a shock.
Dr. Phiri says his Ministry will help the three affected families with funeral arrangements.
And UTH spokesperson Mulenga Mwenya says the three bodies have been identified and are laying in the UTH mortuary.
