A ZESCO pylon in Lusaka
Some explosive targeted at destroying ZESCO pylons in what the police say is intended to sabotage the economy have been found.
Police on the Copperbelt province has confirmed the development saying the explosive were retrieved by a combine team of officers from ZESCO and Zambia Police.
The Police say the explosives were planted under key Power pylons on the Copperbelt and they suspect it is cadres from the opposition.
Copperbelt Police Commanding Officer revealed that Police was closing in on arresting the suspects. She has warned that those engaging on such evil acts will be felt with.
A fortnight ago five Provinces were plunged into darkness following collapse of ZESCO pylons, which the investigations established that it was lightening.
