Today, Tuesday October 18th 2016, Zambians from all walks of life have gathered in their respective townw to pray, fast and reconcile.
During the National Day of Prayer and Fasting which was declared last year by President Edgar Lungu, Christians and other faiths are expected to seek God’s face.
In Lusaka, Zambians have gathered at Woodlands Forest Reserve grounds. In attendance’ is President Lungu, Vice President Inonge Wina and two former presidents Dr Kenneth Kaunda and Rupiah Banda.
Other prominent personalities attending the prayer meeting in Lusaka include former Vice President Enock Kavindele, political party leaders, government officials, the clergy and general citizenly.
The Woodland Forest Rreserve has been marked as a site at which the National House of Prayer will be constructed.
October 18 has been gazetted as a public holiday.
