Lungu speaking to dozens banner flashing Copperbelt province residents

Things are not well for the ruling party – Patriotic Front on the Copperbelt province and President Edgar Lungu has accused Teachers in Chingola of working with the opposition.

Addressing dozens of people who welcomed him at Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe Airport on Thursday, President Lungu said he was aware that Teachers in Chingola were working with the opposition.

President Lungu threatened to fire the Teachers he said were working with the opposition.

Copperbelt province has been a stronghold of the PF but the situation has changed due to high poverty levels caused by poor performance of the economy. This has forced Lungu to go camp in the province for five days after receiving intelligent information that things were not well.

This is what President Lungu said to dozens of residents who displayed a number of banners with negative message making demands:

“I am aware of all the teachers in Chingola working with the Opposition. Nga twa-mitamfya, te kumipata, kutumpa kwenu (If we fire you, it’s not that we hate you, it is your own stupidity!)”
