News of President Edgar Lungu plan to appoint Ministers only from provinces that have Members of Parliament have been received with a sharp reaction.
Some people hailing from provinces where the Patriotic Front lost to the opposition said they can do without representation in Lungu’s cabinet.
The say they would only be worried if not having Ministers in Lungu’s cabinet means there will be no rains for them to do farming.
“Who Cares as if you will stop rains from raining in Southern province we don’t depend on Ministers for survival Siamunene (former Defence Minister) was Minister in PF what did we benefited? NOTHING so give those ministerial positions to your fellow tribesmen we don’t care sir you should know by now,” said Hope Ng’andu.
Mwata Wetu said: “No one (is) begging for a minister, all we want is peace in our provinces. Ministers only feeds their families but GOD gives everyone. After all we are all ready for any evil from PF government. Lungu is not our president he is free to do whatever feels to do to his people. God bless him.”
Felix Maingaila says: “Who cares? As if I’ll get any cash from the so called ministers,we already know who is dividing the country and making our motto meaningless hence hiding from other tribes, come 2021 it will be Dundumwezi formula once again and this time it will be worse and we’ll see to it that no one will be forged as a president again!!!!”
But Tina Mwiinga urged President Lungu to emulate Jesus Christ since he is claiming to be a Christian.
“As a leader you should emulate Christ embrace all who offended you. Have a heart to forgive and forget for the sake of mother Zambia a bemba saying(wanya wanya tateka calo),” said Mwiinga.
But John Kanina said, “So who do you want him to appoint from your region. He has nominated 8 already the rest he will appoint are elected MPs from which regions. Those who gave him MPs. Uwakana ukwela akana nokoca.”
Biggy Changwamachila says what matters to him is putting food on the table. He charged, “We don’t care as long as we are able to put food on our tables the battle continues.”
The opposition UPND has rejected the outcome of the August 11 general elections where Lungu was declared the winner. Its leader has vowed that he will not recognise Lungu as president of Zambia.
Addressing Zambians living in New York, President Lungu said he will only appoint Ministers from the regions / provinces that voted for PF MPs. He said provinces that did not vote for PF should learn to blend with the rest of the country.
Zambia has come out of the polls divided with four provinces outright rejecting the PF and its leader President Lungu who was seeking a reelection.
