Lungu addressing a thanks giving rally at Woodlands stadium

President Edgar Chagwa Lungu, the President-elect of the repulic of Zambia has implored his members to stop hate speech and provocation against the losing camp because Zambia needs every one to develop. Lungu hs also told his opponents to go back and tell their members that we need to embrace each other.

He was said this when he addressed tens of thousands of his supporters who gathered at Lusaka’s Woodlands Stadium for a PF ‘thank you’ rally after winning the August 11 elections.

Lungu also says he needs to thank even areas where he got low or no votes. He cited one area where he got 250 votes against UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema’s 30,000.

“We need to embrace each other. Zambians need everyone to develop,”  Lungu said.

“This is time of hard work. We have a duty to convince the people of southern and Western province to vote for us by delivering development. That’s the only way we can win these peoples hearts. If it was not for those 250 votes I got in Dundumwezi, we wouldn’t have won the elections.”

“We were very angry when we lost elections in 2008  and we started throwing stones but Sata told us to stop it. Those eight colleagues who lost must tell their members to cease fire.”

And speaking earlier Vice President elect, Inonge Wina asked all Zambians from different regions to unite, keep the peace as PF will deliver on its promises.

“We made a promise to unite Zambia. We have a national agenda which includes even those who are didn’t vote for us.” Wina said.
