As UPND file a petition, the effects will be earth shaking. The President cannot take office until the petition is heard.
A Presidential Election Petition is a long complex affair. Edgar Lungu may only be inaugurated in October.
We might even have another election.
If I was Edgar Lungu I would get a new legal advisor. The current one handed the opposition a hand grenade to blow his election to smithereens.
The decision to keep Ministers in office is just the first thing petitioners will cite. This is a blunder that will echo through the corridors of power.
One Minister even addressed the nation in full scale campaign mode and held a long interview which was basically a campaign rally.
That interview alone could only have been accorded a Minister. It was not even a paid for political advert but for free.
Hmm even a neophyte fresh from law school can sink his teeth into that one.
