A Rainbow appeared around the Sun on Sunday July 24th , 2016 as Republican Presidnet Edgar C Lungu was addressing the National Day of Prayer at Showgrounds in Lusaka around 17:05hrs Zambian Time.
Lungu led thousands of Christians in the National Day of Prayer and as he was speaking on the podium, suddenly the rainbow appeared around the sun sending the whole Showgrounds in ululation and joyful celebrations.
The National Day for Prayers, Peace and Unity ahead of the August 11 General elections was called by President Lungu as a response from the unruly cadre violence and a rife in political intolerance especially between UPND and PF.
Meanwhile the nation has been implored to look for Jesus Christ as a standard and only example for change in society. Fr Robert Sakuhawa of Anglican Church urged Zambians to stay away from violence.
“We should not sacrifice the vision and peace of Zambia by the excitement of 11th August”- Fr Sakuhawa preached
And several members of the clergy took turns in leading the nation in prayer on different subjects.
Main Opposition Contender UPND was represented by its Vice President for Politics Dr Canisius Band
First president Kenneth Kaunda is also attending the event.
Others in attendance include leader of the faction of MMD Felix Mutati, Leaders of Opposition parties Traditional Leaders and Members of the Diplomatic Corp.
