Loadshedding reduced to 4 hours

ZAMBIA Electricity Supply Corporation Limited (ZESCO) has reduced load shedding from eight to four hours per day due to due to the increase of water levels in the rivers.

 

In a statement to the Media, ZESCO Senior Manager for Marketing and Public Relations Bessie Banda has said that the improvement in water levels in the rivers and the importation of power has decreased the power deficit that ZESCO was facing.

 

“ZESCO limited would like to inform its esteemed customers and the general public that following the improvement of water inflows at Itezhi tezhi dam, ZESCO is now able to generate at full capacity of 120 MW. This development, coupled with the increase in imports has made it possible for ZESCO to reduce loadshedding from 8 to 4 hours daily,” Ms Banda said.

 

She said added that load shedding would ease even further as ZESCO continued to commission projects that were near completion.

 

“ZESCO wishes to inform is customers and the general public that load shedding will ease even further as we continue to commission the projects that are nearing completion,” Ms Banda
