More will leave PF – President Lungu

President Edgar Lungu says he expects some more members of the ruling Patriotic Front to leave the party for the opposition UPND when Parliament is dissolved next week ahead of the elections.

Commenting on the defection of Lusaka province Minister Mulenga Sata who is also son to PF founder Michael Sata, President Lungu he will continue receiving and working with new members from other political parties in order to grow the ruling party.

President Lungu said he cannot be crucified for working with people who are joining the PF as its growth depends on the number of people it is able to attract.

Announcing his resignation on Tuesday, Mulenga Sata said the PF has been hijacked by members of the MMD. He said his father must be turning in his grave because of what has become of the PF.

But President Lungu said people are free to choose which party to belong to. He explained that the PF has grown from the time late President Michael Sata formed it, by accepting people from other political parties.

He urged PF members to go flat out and campaign so they can win the August 11 general elections.

President Lungu was a speaking on arrival at the Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe International Airport in Ndola Wednesday morning.

The President is on a two days working visit on the Copperbelt province.

 

 

 

 

 

President Lungu has further called on members of the PF to go out and campaign, so that the party wins the August 11, 2016 general election.
