The road which has been constructed by AVIC International at a cost of 2 hundred and 86 point 9 million US dollars has 26 bridges with the main one measuring about 1 kilometre across the Zambezi river.

The colourful ceremony was witnessed by the Litunga Lubosi Imwiiko the Second.

President Lungu has named the longest bridge on the River after Lubosi Imwiiko the Second.

The Head of State says the road will improve the economy of the Province as it will ease transportation of people and goods.

The President said Government is also in the process of working on the Kalabo-Sikongo road.

President Lungu says Zambians should not only honour politicians but other influential people in society such as traditional leaders.

And the Litunga has given President Lungu 4 cows.

And speaking on arrival President Lungu urged people with issues on the Barotse Agreement of 1964, to engage government through the Barotse Royal Establishment -BRE.

President Lungu says this is because the BRE and the Zambian government are the only signatories to the agreement.

The President says the Litunga signed on behalf of the BRE and former President, Kenneth Kaunda signed on behalf of the Zambian government.

President Lungu says he will not allow those who want to ignore the BRE to use political parties to comment on the matter – ZNBC
