Search - PF documentA search for seditious material by the police at the opposition UPND lawyer Martha Mushipe’s law firm in Lusaka Friday night draw a blank but has instead implicated the ruling party – PF.

The search instead yielded into a discovery of a document marked themed “Strategy of domination PF against opposition UPND 2015 – 2016 and beyond” which among others involves use of violence against the opposition. The document is alleged to have been authored by Justice Minister Dr Ngosa Simbyakula and two others.

Dr Simbyakula who also serves as National Chairman for the PF could not be reached for a comment but the ruling party’s Deputy Spokesperson refused to comment.

The document among other tactics also reveals the use of tribal campaign to label UPND as tribal party.

The search follows a letter to the Inspector General of Police by Ephraim Shakafuswa accusing the UPND of having a document that contained how the party would cause chaos in the country.

Shakafuswa who served as UPND Youth Coordinator before he dished the opposition party to join PF alleges that he was part of the clandestine grouping that took oath at Mushipe’s law firm to carry out the exercise.

Following this disclosure the police besieged Mushipe’s law firm to conduct a search but were not allowed as the party went to court.

Search at Mushipe's law firm 1For the last five days the police had been camped at the law firm until Friday evening when they broke in to conduct a search.

“The search was done and no seditious document was found,” Mushipe’s Lawyer Jack Mwiimbu told Journalists.

The document has been been authored by general Tendai Muduli, one of the Shakafuswas and some prominent doctor and extremely senior person.

By press time the Police had not issued a statement on the search.

And PF Deputy Spokesperson Frank Bwalya says the police has to be left to finish their investigations.

“We don’t comment on issues of such nature, would want to let the police do their work without jeopardizing their investigations. So for me now I would not comment on that,” Bwalya told Zambian Eye.
