President Edgar Lungu has directed Patriotic Front (PF) Cadres to stay away from Tuesday’s Political parties leaders’ Indaba.

The Head of State says tomorrow’s meeting is for leaders of political parties and not cadres.

President Lungu has urged presidents of the opposition parties to also tell their cadres to stay away from the event.

The Head of State was speaking to Journalists in Lusaka ahead of the meeting on Tuesday.

The Catholic Bishops in Zambia have called for the meeting to find a solution to the political violence that has highlighted ahead of the August general election.

The meeting is scheduled to take place at Kapingila House in Lusaka.

Leader of the main opposition, Hakainde Hichilema says President Lungu is playing to the gallery as he has the capacity to stop the violence as Head of State.

Veteran politician Vernon Mwaanga says it is shameful that it has to take the Church for political leaders to talk to each other.

Mwaanga has however welcomed the Indaba.
