May I first commend you for the job you are doing to this nation, we are greatly blessed. Please do not relent.
I write to bring to the attention of the nation on the happenings at Serenje District Council with regard to the plots.
Thieving, conniving, thuggery and crime is the call of the day at this council with regard to land allocation.
The man at the middle of all these scandals is the Council Chairman, Mr Kennedy Kango, who has taken up the role of overseer for all that goes on at the council and acts with impunity which he gets away with due to illiteracy amongst council workers who are threatened due to his foul mouth utterances.
Last year, we received over 10 illegal allocations by this man, but the Council Secretary could not allow investigations because of his threats and imaginary black magic. This man gets land anyhow and anywhere and sells it as he wishes. Whenever he does that, he directs the council staff to do the paperwork for normalization. And these are puppets who are government employees and bow to his pressure. Right now, he has sold many plots to over three people who are fighting each other at the expense of his crookedness. Unfortunately, all council workers bow down to his pressure.
I am a victim who got a residential plot from him for a house opposite the new hospital, only.to find that it has over 3 people who had all paid. I have tried going to the council for help over this matter and no one seems interested to deal with the matter as they are all scared of his wrath. He always warned them of how he influenced the firing and suspension of the former Council Treasurer. Therefore, all are scared of the night chairman.
I urge government investigation agencies to take keen interest in how this man is operating and help innocent citizens in this developing town of Serenje. As for me, if the government fails to act, I may take the law in my hands over this man because the money I paid him is my hard earned income that he cannot get away with Scot free.
