Lungu gone too far, will be held responsible – UPND

UPND Cadre hackedThis is one of the UPND Supporters who was hacked by thugs suspected to be from the ruling PF in Kanyama on Friday.

They were on their way to Chainama Hotel for the UPND Media briefing when the thugs pounced on them before they took off.

These thugs also attacked the Journalists stole their cameras, phones and money.

UPND National Chairperson Mutale Nalumango charged that President Lungu will be held responsible over the blood of the victims of his cadres’ violence.

Vice president Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba or GBM as he is commonly called charged that President Lungu is going too far. He said the violence being perpetrated by Lungu’s cadres is worse than the MMD in 2011 under his friend Rupiah Banda.

GBM reminds Lungu to recall the ending of Rupiah Banda regime and his subsequent arrests saying it would be worse for him (Lungu).

Party president Hakainde Hichilema appeals to his members all over the country to remain prayerful and peaceful no matter the amount of provocation.

“We pray for the quick recovery our youths and journalists who were hacked yesterday on their way to our Press Briefing,” Hichilema says.

“Sadly at the rate we are headed, we might inherit a nation of scars in addition to serious economic challenges. Our call for calm and none retaliation should not be misconstrued as a sign of weakness on our part, but it’s on the realisation that there is no winner in violence.”

On the journalists Hichilema says: “As for our colleagues in the media, we keep requesting you to remain focused despite the many challenges you face and never be used as tools for hatred in the nation despite the many tricks our opponents may use.”

Hichilema has since given the police 24 hours to arrest the thugs that attacked his members and journalists.
