UPND Vice president Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba has been granted bail of K10,000 cash and two working sureties.

Mwamba was taken to court this morning after spending a weekend in police cells. He took plea before Lusaka Principal Magistrate, Jennipher Bwalya. He however pleaded not guilt in one charge of proposing violence.

Then one of his lawyers Jack Mwiimbu made a bail application saying Mwamba is a prominent businessman of fixed abode and has served as Defence Minister.

Magistrate Bwalya granted Mwamba popularly known as GBM a bail and set April 11, 2016 as the date for commencement of trail.

GBM last week on Wednesday while addressing his Supporters after being released from Police cell in another matter is alleged to have said he would go for President Lungu’s throat. He accused Lungu of persecuting him.
