A 77-year-old woman of Nkole Mfumu Village in Kasama has committed suicide after she was suspected of practicing witchcraft by her relatives.
Northern Province Police Commissioner Bonny Kapeso confirmed the incident to ZANIS in Kasama .
Mr. Kapeso has since identified the deceased as Martha Mulenga of Nkole Mfumu.
He said the deceased hanged herself in the bush on Sunday and that the body was later discovered by some villagers.
Mr. Kapeso added that the body of the deceased has since been buried.
