President Edgar Lungu has held talks with Pope Francis at the Vatican.
The meeting which lasted over 20 minutes was held in Pope Francis private library.
ZNBC’s Mwila Nsofu reports from the Vatican that accompanying the President is First Lady Esther, Foreign Affairs Minister Harry Kalaba, PF Deputy Secretary General Mumbi Phiri and other senior government officials.
The Zambian Flag was hoisted high at the Vatican where President Lungu was given a full Presidential salute by the Swiss guards.
The President is now holding talks with the Secretary of State Cardinal Petro Parolin at the Vatican.
President Lungu is in Rome for a two day visit at the invitation of Secretary for Relations with state Archbishop Paul Gallagher.
Archbishop Gallagher visited Zambia last year – ZNBC
