It has become a nightmare to leave Chunga township in Lusaka’s Matero constituency due to poor roads, a resident has told Zambian Eye.
Zambian Eye help us to bring our cry to the authority that be and our area MP. Going or leaving Chunga has become a nightmare as the detour is as bad as having no road.
Changing of simple culverts seems to be taking forever and ZNS are the one doing the works. Just simple culverts taking 3months, it’s unacceptable and ZNS must explain themselves, because we expected better from men in uniforms.
The detour road is not any better, the tire and wear on our vehicles is grave. The dust that the surrounding area along the road is a health concern.
The Chinese company that is working on Commonwealth Road had to do two bridges on that road and didn’t take even two months. The Government continues to blame local contractors but even their own branch of the defense force is failing to do a simple changing of culverts.
When the rains pour we are temporary cut off from the rest of Matero. We are in a desperate situation and quicker it’s attended to the better. Please powers that be hear our cry.
