Chirundu MMD district secretary Gift Chanda has appealed to Zambians across the country to honour the late and first democratic president FTJ Chiluba by voting for MMD in 2016.
Speaking to Pastors in Chirundu on Tuesday, Chanda said “Zambians has sadly lost three Presidents and when president Levy Mwanawasa died in 2008, we honoured him by voting for Rupiah Banda, when president Sata died 2015 we honoured him by voting for Edgar Lungu through a sympathy vote and now it’s time to honour Chiluba by voting for Dr. Nevers Mumba who is former Republican Vice President.”
Chanda said Dr. Chiluba transformed the country’s economy by introducing deliberate policies such as free market economy, duty free on public transport, land empowerment and house empowerment policy which saw a lot of Zambians owning houses.
“My appeal goes to all those who benefited from FTJ policies to remember and honour him by voting for MMD in 2016 presidential and general elections,” he said.
