Ministry of Defence Permanent Secretary Sturdy Mwale has opened the senior officials’ negotiations for the setting up of the Joint Commission for Cooperation(JCC).
The meetings that are being held at the Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO).
Mwale called for the continued good relations and multi sectoral cooperation between the two countries.
And Acting Director of the Department of International Relations Ex Makaya said relations between Zambia and South Africa were that of Sister Republics that have cooperated in many fields in the past.
He noted that some work was done during the past visits but the official setting up of the JCC is historical.
He said that the two countries had an opportunity to inaugurate the JCC since the two countries opened diplomatic relations and consultations in 1990.
