Lusaka High Court Judge Mwila Chitabo has ruled that President Edgar Lungu and his Deputy Inonge Wina, ECZ and Concourt should be removed from the presidential petition hearing on grounds that they enjoy immunity to the law.

Chitabo has however ruled that the petitioners, Hakainde Hichilema and Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba are free to appeal against his ruling.

President Lungu and Ms Wina will not be part of the petition but have to be represented by PF attorney General Likando Kalaluka.

UPND Lawyers however during the last hearing had argued that at the time the petition was submitted Edgar Lungu and Inonge Wina were not enjoying immunity.

Meanwhile, Chitabo will shortly set the date as to when the main matter in this case violation of rights to be heard must come though attorney general Likando Kalaluka will now be representing Lungu, Inonge, ECZ and concourt.
