ZNBC Staff on sitting in protest

The National broadcaster, Zambian National Broadcasting Corporation employees on Friday went on strike due to delayed salaries and power conditions of services.

The employees who are reportedly paid between K1,400 to K 4000 a month staged a sit in protest at Mass Media Complex in Lusaka.

A check by Zambian Eye found the striking employees sitting outside the Mass media premises.

By press time, the Union leaders were reportedly having a discussion with management.

Earlier this month, Chilufya Tayali, Zambian Voice Executive Director and MEDE interim leader made what he called in expose on the conditions of ZNBC employees.

In his exposé, Tayali said some employees have been working as casuals for many years and get as low as K1400 per month.
