The Energy Regulation Board (ERB) has adjusted the price of petroleum products as follows; petrol to K13.70 a litre from K9.87; diesel to K11.40 from K8.59 and Kerosene to K8.03 from K6.12 effective from midnight.
And motorists in Lusaka have rushed to filling stations to get their tanks filled before the new prices are effected.
A check conducted by Zambian Eye within the Lusaka central business fistrict found motorists had made long queues for fuel, understandbly avoiding the new prices which will come into effect a few hours from now.
Earlier this month, Minister of Finance announced that government will remove subsidies from most sectors of our economy. This is believed to be one of indicators to the already projected harder times as announced by government.
