Bauleni - GBMHome Affairs Minister, Stephen Kampyongo has threatened to “blow up the tummy” of United Party for National Development (UPND) Vice President for administration Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba.

“Ndekuteneka iwe Veep wabufi ulufomo lukapopoloka [I will beat you down, you fake Vice President and your tummy will blow], if you want to continue daring me in silly style,” Kampyongo wrote to Mwamba.

Kampyongo texted Mwamba after prison authorities at Kamfinsa on Tuesday denied GBM and UPND president Hakainde Hichilema access the incarcerated party members because they had received instructions from the minister of home affairs not to do so.

Mwamba then reacted angrily and said Kampyongo didn’t deserve to be a Minister, words the later was not impressed with.

Mwamba allegedly phoned Kampyongo to ask him why he had sent him a threatening message, but according to Mwamba, he was insulted more.

“On Tuesday night, he sent me a very silly message saying he will come and blow up my tummy…I find that to be very stupid. He insulted me further when I called him to find out what he meant. I find that to be very stupid and foolish. This little Kampyongo is now abusing his powers. He should know that power cannot be abused and if he continues, he will live to regret not too long from now,” Mwamba said in Lusaka.

Mwamba also said he is contemplating taking legal action against Kampyongo for the threatening text message he sent after denying them access to Kamfinsa State Prison.

“He should not abuse his powers to threaten citizens. I will sue him for what he said in the text message. I won’t take that lightly,” Mwamba warned.

“I was Minister of Defence, acted as president but never abused my power when I was in charge but this little boy thinks that he can abuse it…I will take legal action. I am now talking to my lawyers over his threats that he will blow up my tummy. He should not abuse his power, he should know that it’s the people that give that power and they can take it back.”
