President Lungu greets Mwaliteta in Prison
Incarcerated Former Lusaka Province Minister Obvious Mwaliteta is under threat of being slapped with a murder charge in an incident that happened in 2013.
Sources close to Zambian Eye have narrated how Mwaliteta was recently visited by suspected the police at Chimbokaila were he is remanded for suspected armed robbery which is unbailable.
Mwaliteta who was ruling Patriotic Front- PF Kafue Member of Parliament and Lusaka Provincial Minister until his defection in the run up to August 11th General Elections massively campaigned for Opposition United Party for National Development.
According to the sources, Mwaliteta is to be charged with murder over the death of Johan Lyakoka, his 19 year old cook who died in mysterious circumstances whilst he was Sourthen Province Minister in 2013
And police deputy spokesperson, Esther Mwata Katongo, said she was not aware of the development.
Katongo assured that she would carry out investigations and once she had information she would avail it to the media.
“I am not aware about that. Someone had earlier asked me about that but I am not aware, I will try and ask my superiors and if there is any information relating to the matter I will contact you’’, said Katongo.
The body of Lyakoka was found lying on the tarmac on the Lusaka road opposite Crossroads Lodge, a few metres away from where the deceased and his colleagues were staying.
