The ruling PF has pleaded with chiefs in Southern Province to forgive their party secretary general Davies Chama for the derogatory remarks he uttered against the Tonga-speaking people, reports Hot FM.
Months ago, Chama reportedly told a local newspaper that Tongas swill never rule the country and that they should use their “polygamous nature” to have more children for one of them to have a chance of winning the presidency after 100 years.
This angered Tonga traditional leaders who called on President Edgar Lungu to fire Chama.
But PF party mobilisation Chairman Paul Moonga is shocked that the chiefs have not forgiven Mr.Chama despite the republican vice President Inonge Wina tendering an apology in parliament.
Meanwhile PF youths in Lusaka have challenged the police command in the province to expedite investigations on claims by UPND Leader Hakainde Hichilema that the Head of state had hired three witchdoctors to help him win next year’s elections.
Ward Councillor for Harry Mwaanga Nkumbula ward Daniel Kalembe told Hot FM in a walk in interview that, he wrote to the police to investigate the matter about a month ago but they have not acted on the matter to date.
