Barely an hour after the dismissal of the petition filed by United Party for National Development Leader and his running mate Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba challenging the reelection of Edgar Lungu of patriotic Front as Republican President, government has announced the date if inauguration.
In a press statements released by Secretary to the Cabinet Dr Roland Msiska, inauguration will take place on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at National Heroes stadium in Lusaka.
Dr Msiska also said the committee for inauguration which shall see the organization of the function has been activated.Msiska also said government shall process the inauguration ceremony thought cabinet office.
Meanwhile Patriotic Front Legal Counsel and newly elected Kabwe Central Member of Parliament Tutwa Ngulube has said it was expected that the petition was ill founded and had no grounds hence he is not surprised that it failed. Speaking to Zambian Eye in an interview after the court dismissed the petition, Ngulube said the PF legal team had excused themselves from Mondays process because the court had erred in extending the days and there fore the PF lawyers refused to be part of the illegality.
