The Zambia Boxing Federation (ZBF) is excited with the visit of the Amateur International Boxing Association (AIBA) director of boxers development Fabricio Leclercq at the Olympic Youth Development Centre who is around to appreciate the facility and its operations.
Federation president Thomas Chileshe, says AIBA has identified the Olympic Youth Development Centre, where over 14 countries under zone 4 category will be holding training programs for various technical officials, administrators and athletes.
“AIBA director of boxers development from France Fabricio Leclercq, is here to appreciate this place so that in the near future we can start training our athletes for high performance programs. AIBA is a world boxing organization and 14 countries will be coming here,” said Chileshe.
Chileshe says Zimbabwe, Malawi, Uganda, Botswana, Seychelles, Angola, Namibia and Mauritius will be among the countries that will be using the multipurpose boxing hall at OYDC.
He further said once the appreciation is done and impressive the president of AIBA will come to Zambia to launch the multipurpose boxing hall to be furnished with boxing equipment’s.
And OYDC director Clement Chileshe, says the visit by AIBA Director of Boxers Development is motivating.
Chileshe says he is confident that the Centre will continue becoming the home of Olympic heroes stating that boxing has been the biggest potential.
“For us it is an important and integral part of our vision and fulfillment of the service of this infrastructure. In all this, we hope that we shall continue our aim for this Centre as becoming the home of Olympic heroes for this country and boxing has been one of the greatest potential,” Chileshe said.
