Australia based Zambian Academician Prof Nalukui Nawa has demanded that president-elect Edgar Ĺungu steps aside following the petition filed against his election by the opposition UPND presidential candidate Hakainde Hichilema.
Prof Nawa who had declared victory for Hichilema and had vowed to walk naked if Lungu won has demanded that the constitution should be followed. She says Secretary to Cabinet Rowland Msiska must not mislead the public.

Dr Roland Msiska, Secretary to the Cabinet is misleading the country in his desperation to appear to be useful to Edgar. Dr Msiska must not mix politics with professionalism and must with all respect leave politics for politicians. His statement on Edgar’s position after the presidential petition is nauseating and unfortunate! It is a well known fact that Dr Msiska is a compromised character that has traded off his professionalism for a few more coins in his bank account. However, he ought to be serious for once and this is the time to show it when the country needs serious leadership and not politicking among professionals in the Public Service. Dr Musiska failed to outline what the Constitution says about transiting through a period like this one and instead settled on politicking for the purposes of appeasing his master, Edgar. When it mattered the most, Dr Msiska lacked balls and demonstrated cowardice!! That’s cowardice, a clear demonstration of greedy and a testimony of how the Public Service is compromised under Edgar.
The Zambian Constitution is clear on what happens when there is an election petition; the Speaker assumes the executive powers as stipulated by the Constitution [ Constitution of Zambia (Amendment) No. 2 of 2016] that Edgar himself gave to us in January, 2016. Edgar is violating the Constitution and his action is treasonable to say the least. The pressure is on Edgar, he is living scared and knows very well that he did not win the election. We must resolutely defend our Constitution and stop Edgar’s criminality. We cannot betray ourselves by allowing Edgar’s continued abrogation of the Constitution with impunity and yet power comes from we the people.
We are a democracy, and cannot allow Edgar to manipulate us in every manner he feels just like he did with the issue of keeping his Cabinet Ministers even when everyone else opposed his crooked position. Edgar’s desperation is just shocking to the world and yet this is a criminal that claims to have won an election. We are not going to sit and watch Edgar and his minions manipulate us, we shall resist this by whatever effort it shall take us.
This abrogation of the Constitution by Edgar isn’t against HH or the UPND but against the supreme law of our land and we shall NOT allow Edgar space to blind the whole country in his desperate bid to get back to State House. The biggest problem we have in this country at this moment is that Edgar thinks and he is deceived so by his fellow criminals that he is the best thing to have happened for this country when in actual fact he is a curse we are living with. To hell with Edgar’s criminal mind!!
Fellow countrymen and women, remember that article 2 subsection (1) and (2) of our Constitution demands that we all help to defend our Constitution and I quote;
2. Every person has the right and duty to____
(a) defend this Constitution; and
(b) resist or prevent a person from overthrowing, suspending or illegally abrogating this Constitution.
