In the midst of the challenges, President Edgar Lungu says he will divisfy the economy to create jobs and win the 2016 elections.
“Am very sure that PF will win the elections with big margins. We are a listening government. Watch the space and you see that we are wining. We have a wining formula, ” Lungu said responding to a question from a AFP Correspondent.
President Lungu did not talk about political violence but when asked about it, he said was sure that Zambians are not violent people.
He said he had powers as he commands armed forces but was restrained to order for the arrest of suspected UPND Cadres who attacked the Vice president’s relatives in her constituency.
President Lungu urged Zambians to exhibit love to each other.
On the reports that government has the capacity to the mines, President Lungu agreed that the government would take over if investors withdraw. He however said government has no intentions to takeover of the running of the mines.
President Lungu was not categorical on the outcome of the meeting with the IMF.
