UPND presidential candidate Hakainde Hichilema and his entourage on Monday took their campaigns to North Western PProvince, addressing enthusiastic crowds in Manyinga, Chavuma and Zambezi East constituencies.
Hichilema talked about the vast opportunities that are open to the nation but are not being utilised.
He said in Manyinga, the farming potential is substantial, but late delivery of inputs and high prices are keeping yields down and holing our farmers back, whereas in Chavuma the presence of water bodies can be used to provide safe and clean drinking water for our people.
The UPND leader asked voters for the chance to empower them so they can grasp these opportunities, whether that’s through education, mentorship, skills training or access to capital.
He stressed that Zambians deserve better than the current situation of rising food prices, joblessness and limited access to education and health.
The UPND strongman said on August 2016 his party is offering voters change and a government that has the capacity and commitment to delivery, adding that with strong and visionary leadership the country will move forward.
He reiterated call to his supporters across the country to uphold peace and reject violence, further appealing to them to vote for UPND and join the fight against poverty.
