United Party for National Development (UPND) Vice President and presidential running mate, Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba, has reportedly been summoned by police in Kasama.
Mwamba, who was in Luapula Province the past week, confirmed receiving a tip off from police ssources upon arrival in Kasama that he is wanted at the Police Station.
This comes in the wake of the arrest of 28 UPND cadres at Mwamba’s residence in Kasama earlier this week. Police had raided Mwamba’s house and arrested the cadres whom they allegedly found with offensive weapons such as machetes and petrol bombs.
“We are now in Northern province and in my hometown Kasama. I have just heard that police have been instructed to come and pick me up from my home, and are actually on their way , I will update you …” Mwamba said in a short statement posted on his Facebook page.
